Studty of 30 Cases of Choledocalcyst in Adults : ( A Rare Presentation )

Choledochal cyst is the congenital abnormality that almost invariably requires surgical intervention to prevent hepaticobiliary & pancreatic complications. Although majority of these patients present in infancy & childhood, about 20 – 30% are diagnosed in adults. This study was both retrospective & prospective in 30 patients from Jan, 2011 to Feb. 2014 admitted in the Department of General Surgery. The study aimed at incidence of choledochal cyst in relation to age group and sex, common clinical presentation, various types of surgical treatment for various types of choledochal cyst and morbidity & mortality pattern of choledochal cyst.
